Description

Description

Produced by a group of friends challenging the conventions of modern oenology, Anonymous Productions aims to turn things around—shifting the focus away from the winemaker to restore the rightful ownership of the wine to its true origins. These wines celebrate and honor the treasures of Alentejo, its people, and its land. Rooted deeply in tradition, this release pays homage to and preserves the ancestral winemaking wisdom passed down through generations.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Open ruby color, highly characteristic of low-extraction winemaking.

  • Aroma: Closed aromatics typical of the Moreto variety, opening up with soft, complex vegetal nuances combined with bright red fruit and light baking spices.

  • Palate: A light entry on the palate supported by an enveloping acidity. It remains impeccably balanced throughout the tasting, concluding with a resilient finish where a subtle, distinctive touch of clay stands out.

Terroir & Viticulture

  • Varieties: Moreto (Amareleja), Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet (Montemor-o-Novo).

  • Vines: Bush vines (Amareleja) and vertically trellised lines (Montemor-o-Novo) with an average age of 30 years, grown strictly without irrigation and managed under organic production.

  • Soils:

    • Montemor-o-Novo: Mediterranean brown gneiss soils with a sandy loam texture.

    • Amareleja: Reddish-brown, schist soils featuring a sandy texture.

  • Harvest: 100% manual harvesting, completed in mid-September.

Vinification & Craft

The grapes underwent complete destemming into 3 ancient clay vessels. Spontaneous fermentation occurred in direct contact with the grape skins for approximately 15 days, during which the cap was gently and manually submerged to ensure proper, delicate extraction. The vessels were traditionally “opened” on Good Friday of Easter, followed by final tasting and blending. This wine did not undergo any artificial stabilization process.
