Made in Península de Setúbal Region.
Region with Mediterranean climate surround by ocean and river. The soil type is sandy, and the vineyards are in average 25 years old. Local famous native grape variety “Castelão” is used in the blend. This grape is characterized by red berry fruit flavour and rounded tannins.
The “Koppu” bottle, was inspired on Portuguese Traditional Tile (“Azulejo”) present in all the old architecture of Portugal. As a typical culture characteristic in our country, it’s possible to find it in all historic areas and modern as well. The brand name was created thinking on the history of the word “Koppu”, one of Portuguese Keywords in Japanese Vocabulary, which resulted from the Portuguese entry in Japan between 1542 – 1543 years, making the proximity between Portuguese and Japanese culture.
